Competitions:
Solo or Chamber or Excerpt competitions help one set goals for their playing. It also provides a chance to share music and build community with others in their field.
Festivals/Institutes:
These are an excellent way to continue to play and grow musically outside of your normal studies. Many take place over the summer and offer a great opportunity to meet new people in your profession.
Professional Organizations or Clinics:
Instrument or area specific: organizations help one find others who share their interests; they also have conferences that meet to discuss related areas.
